2) Focus on technology
Resilient thermal oil pipes
The thermal oil pipelines were designed for an operating pressure of 10 bar and temperatures of up to 300°C. During operation, temperatures typically range between 250 and 280°C.
A particular challenge was a DN300 steam distribution manifold classified in Category IV, which underwent TÜV inspection and approval. Steam pipelines place special demands on planning and execution due to high internal pressures and the risk of steam hammer.
The design parameters of the steam pipelines were 19 bar pressure and a temperature of 215°C. Thanks to the close collaboration between the engineering and installation teams, as well as extensive experience in industrial piping construction, these requirements were implemented safely and professionally.
Particularly noteworthy is that CE Declarations of Conformity in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive were issued for the steam pipelines DN100 (Category I) and DN200 (Category II) installed within the project. In addition, the steam distributor DN350 (NVT 700) in Category IV underwent a full conformity assessment in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive in conjunction with the AD 2000 Code, including successful TÜV approval. This not only demonstrates NESS’s technical expertise in the industrial high-pressure range, but also ensures the highest safety and quality standards in compliance with European regulations.
