What did you do before working at NESS?
Before joining NESS, I studied industrial engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Esslingen. After graduating, I started working directly at NESS.
Why did you decide to work for NESS?
At the time I finished my studies, NESS was looking for reinforcement in purchasing. As the job advertisement for a technical buyer appealed to me and also fitted in very well with my studies, I applied.
What is your working day like at NESS? What are your daily tasks?
Since I work in purchasing, a lot of it naturally revolves around orders. On the one hand, it’s about the commercial processing and on the other hand, it’s about clarifying the technical requirements and specifications that some components entail. Of course, the commercial side goes beyond the order. Here, the order confirmations of the suppliers have to be checked, delivery dates have to be monitored and, in the end, the invoices have to be released for payment.
What do you like best about your job? What task do you enjoy the most?
You come into contact with many departments within the company and are therefore very much involved in the corporate performance process. You know what’s going on in the company. In addition, you get technical know-how about the parts to be purchased. In plant construction, of course, there are quite a few.
What has been your best moment at NESS?
That was my first and so far only Christmas party right at the beginning. After that, it was unfortunately no longer possible due to Corona. There you noticed how closely the employees are connected to each other. The atmosphere was familiar and everyone felt comfortable.
What qualities do new work colleagues at NESS need to fit into the work culture?
Enjoy working in a medium-sized company with flat hierarchies. Plus, of course, a corresponding ability to learn and adapt.
How do you describe the atmosphere at NESS?
Familiar and collegial
What makes NESS as an employer special to you?
As a young professional, I have been able to learn a lot here in the past 3 years. You realise the importance of your own work in terms of the company’s success and know what you are working for.
