What did you do before worked at NESS?
Before I started my current job as an electrical engineer, I trained to become a “state-certified technician” and during that time I qualified as a trainer.
Why did you decide to work for NESS?
I already got to know Ness during my training as an electronics technician for industrial engineering at the time and felt very well looked after there.
As I was aiming for the said further training to become a “state-certified technician” full-time, I left the company for this measure. Mr Emmerich drew my attention to a possible technical job at Ness, which I then completed.
During this time I learned that my former trainer and supervisor would be retiring soon and that a successor was needed. The range of tasks and the job appealed to me very much and so I became part of the team again.
What is your working day like at NESS? What are your daily tasks?
My area of responsibility is varied and mainly includes the programming of controls, the creation of circuit diagrams as well as the electrical testing and acceptance of switchgear.
In addition to operational training in electrical production, my tasks include monitoring the electrical and project warehouse as well as maintaining the operating technology.
Since each project is individually tailored to the customer, the challenges involved are different, which is why every working day is usually different from the previous one.
Due to the parallel supervision of training and operating technology, priorities can change by leaps and bounds, which guarantees variety in the daily routine.
What has been your best moment at NESS?
Several highlights come to mind, such as field trips where you could see the built systems in action at their final installation site.
What stands out the most, however, is the reunion with my colleagues upon my re-entry, who were visibly delighted to welcome me as a colleague.
What qualities do new work colleagues at NESS need to fit into the work culture?
Depending on the prospective position, I consider a corresponding degree of flexibility and willingness to take responsibility to be necessary. A collegial attitude and a sense of humour would round off the package.
How do you describe the atmosphere at NESS?
I would describe the working atmosphere as very pleasant and informal. Even in challenging situations, the interaction among each other remains friendly and the best possible solution is worked out together.
What makes NESS as an employer special to you?
