What did you do before worked at NESS?
I was employed as a research assistant at the Institute of Technical Thermodynamics and Thermal Process Engineering and worked on my doctorate, as well as giving lectures of lecture exercises in various subjects.
Why did you decide to work for NESS?
I became aware of the vacancy for a technical assistant to the management by chance. A notice about the job came to our institute via our current head of design, Jörg Limley. The job description sounded very varied and still offered enough interfaces to my training, which is why I then applied. The conditions and areas of responsibility offered, as well as the quick response to the application and the interviews, convinced me to start at NESS.
What is your working day like at NESS? What are your daily tasks?
In my new position as Chief Information and Technology Officer, I will be responsible for product development and the internal expansion of the IT infrastructure, as well as the continuous improvement of processes. At the moment, I am still in the familiarisation phase with the existing projects of my predecessor and the handover of some tasks of my job as a technical assistant.
What do you like best about your job? What task do you enjoy the most?
The combination of many different tasks that provide both an intensive study of challenging topics and many small tasks with quick successes.
What has been your best moment at NESS?
The feedback on the successful production of first samples of fibre composite materials through the use of a novel pilot plant in whose design and implementation I was involved.
What qualities do new work colleagues at NESS need to fit into the work culture?
Structured, independent work, logical thinking, flexibility with regard to tasks and definitely the ability to work in a team.
How do you describe the atmosphere at NESS?
There is a great willingness to help among the colleagues and they know and appreciate each other. People often joke and laugh among themselves, but on the other hand, problems are also clearly addressed and worked on vigorously to eliminate them.
What makes NESS as an employer special to you?
It never gets boring. Because NESS plans and implements individual plants and does it all in an international environment, there is a different challenge in every project and every day.
