What did you do before worked at NESS?
I completed my Master’s degree in mechanical engineering in Darmstadt at the end of 2019. Afterwards, I travelled through Southeast Asia for a quarter of a year. Stops included the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
Why did you decide to work for NESS?
I wrote my Master’s thesis in cooperation with a large corporation, which was an exciting experience. Nevertheless, I wanted to join a medium-sized company as a young professional. The areas of activity and responsibility that were offered to me at the interview sounded very promising.
What I appreciate most about NESS is the open interaction within the team, between supervisors and employees. It makes you feel very valued.
What is your working day like at NESS? What are your daily tasks?
I am currently mainly involved in plant engineering for process heat plants. This includes piping planning and stress calculations. However, my area of responsibility also includes the handling of small projects and 3D design activities.
What do you like best about your job? What task do you enjoy the most?
Above all, contact with customers, suppliers, other subcontractors and cooperation with production ensure a varied working day and many challenges.
What has been your best moment at NESS?
I joined the company when the Corona pandemic already had us firmly in its grip. That’s why I wasn’t able to experience big events like the Christmas party or the summer festival. But of course there are many other small things from everyday work, for example when projects or processes run as planned.
What qualities do new work colleagues at NESS need to fit into the work culture?
The aforementioned ability to work in a team is probably a very important aspect that a new colleague should bring along. But a certain flexibility is also required in everyday work.
At NESS, there is a very friendly atmosphere among colleagues, but also across departments. In addition, despite the difficult circumstances this year and last year, my colleagues gave me a comprehensive induction and thus a good start.
